You can go as dark as you want on the back windows behind the driver and passenger windows. The front windows have to let 70% of light in. By putting 80% on the front windows will generally bring the front glass to around 75%, still under California legal limit.
We like the car to be dropped off for 1/2 day, we also like the car to be in a general clean condition free of car seats.
